I'm told there's a 3 mile one-of-these around Accotink lake. I'll check it out this weekend, weather permitting.

that would be a good distance track. A quick google says that Accotink Lake is about 1.5 hours from me, so i could make that a couple times i think.

Alright, Accotink lake was a total failure. No excercise stations. And it's horribly marked, so I ended up running an extra mile or two in some awful suburban maze. Sorry bros.

On the good side, I realized that we won't have to worry about some of the obstacles, since Loc will be able to toss us over them, singly or in pairs.

Rhya and I ran out to the Lake Newport fitness trail yesterday, and it's promising. There are about 8 stations over a half-mile course, with sit-ups, monkeybars, pushups, hanging leg raises, things to jump over, chin-ups, more sit-ups, and step-ups. And there's a decent trail around the lake itself that I haven't measured for a longer run before /after.

Let's see if I can embed this thing...

Maybe next weekend Pav and I can measure the around-the-lake path. We just ran out of daylight yesterday.

I do my day job (walking dogs) using part of the lake path, so I can testify that it is pleasant, paved, and other than one slightly confusing suburbia section (the trail uses Waterfront Rd for a bit before breaking off to continue around the lake) is nicely wooded. It's also well used, so tends to clear quickly after ice/snow.

There's a parking lot near the beginning/end of the fitness path, just off of Browns Chapel Rd.

Alright guys, Warrior Dash is going into srs bsns territory. Registration for the first day of the race, October 9th, is already FULL, and the 10th is more than half full already. If you're still interested, cast your vote for a time slot, and let's all get registered.
